Momentum for Integration Project

This project is co-ordinated by Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN) and South Asia Regional Office (SARO) – International Planned Parenthood Federation.

Key Achievements

  • The major initiative by Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN) in past six month was Rapid Assessment Review to understand the SRH HIV integration status in Nepal by using Rapid Assessment Tool (RAT) developed by IPPF, WHO, UNFPA, ICW, GNP+ and Young Positives.
  • In an effort to strategize the advocacy initiatives of FPAN for integration, staff members from FPAN headquarter and branches along with CSO representatives joined the capacity development workshop on SRH HIV integration facilitated by IPPF SARO. At the end of the workshop FPAN headquarter staff, branch staff and CSO representatives developed separate action plans as per the relevance of their presence and work areas.
  • FPAN has been nominated to a Technical Working Group formed to advocate integration of HIV in family planning services in Nepal under the leadership of Department of Health Service. One of the service delivery points (Family Health Centre in Itahari) of FPAN has been selected as a point place to observe its integrated services.
  • FPAN has started a promotion campaign for SRH and HIV integration within young population using mobile phones and text messages.
