What is SRH and HIV integration?

SRH and HIV integration refers to different kinds of SRH and HIV services or operational programmes that can be joined together to ensure and perhaps maximize collective outcomes through many modalities (multi-tasked providers, referral, one-stop shop services under one roof, etc.). It is based on the need to offer comprehensive services and can include referrals if there is a clear facilitated referral pathway.

The difference between integration and linkages is:

  • SRH and HIV linkages refer to bi-directional synergies in policy, systems and services between SRH and HIV. It refers to a broader human rights-based approach, of which service integration is a subset.
  • SRH and HIV integration refers to the service delivery level
